We will establish a price per treatment and approximate number of treatments necessary, based on the evaluated tattoo.

Astanza Duality Tattoo Removal Laser

At Wake Health Medical Group, a lot of time and effort goes into choosing the right technology. Quality is key for achieving flawless results, which is why all of our laser tattoo removal treatments are performed with the Astanza Trinity. This state-of-the-art laser delivers ultra-high peak power for better ink shattering which is what effective laser tattoo removal is all about!

Laser tattoo removal has evolved into one of the most innovative procedures for getting rid of unwanted ink. Our Trinity is able to reach unmatched levels of power and selectively target ink trapped deep in your skin. With its versatile 1064 nm, 532 nm, and 694 nm wavelengths, the Trinity can deliver full-spectrum removal across all multicolored tattoos.

Majority of tattoo removal providers only support 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths. While these wavelengths are optimal for treating 90 to 95% of tattoos, they are completely unsuccessful when treating bright blue and green inks. Only our 694 nm ruby wavelength can efficiently target the remaining 5% of tattoos that contain stubborn green and blue inks that other wavelengths cannot.

The Trinity is equipped with oval and square spot technology, allowing for safer energy application, minimized side effects, and beautiful results. These spot sizes are designed to reach deeper into the skin and clear more ink with each session. All treatments performed with the Trinity are safe for all patient skin types.

Anyone can receive treatments with our Astanza Trinity system, including patients with previously treated tattoos. Tattoos that have not been effectively removed by other treatments may respond well to Astanza laser therapy, providing prior treatment did not cause excessive scarring or skin damage.

How Many Laser Tattoo Removal Sessions Are Needed?

Each tattoo has different characteristics that influence the number of removal sessions necessary. These include:

  • Size
  • Color
  • Type of ink used
  • Density of ink
  • Whether the tattoo is old or new
  • Any pre-existing scarring
  • Patient health
  • Other factors

The number of sessions needed for laser tattoo removal treatment is primarily determined by the color of the tattoo. Most tattoos are comprised of different color families and a different wavelength is needed for each. Turquoise, bright blue, and vibrant green tattoos are some of the most difficult to eliminate. Our Trinity’s three essential wavelengths – 1064 nm, 532 nm, and 694 nm – work collectively to target all ink color groups, easily destroying unwanted multicolored tattoos and sending the zapped ink particles out through the body’s immune system.

Some tattoos may only need 3 to 4 treatments while darker tattoos with preexisting scarring may require more than 10 treatments. In most cases, laser tattoo removal takes between 5 to 10 treatments and are spread over several months or a few years. A minimum of 6 to 8 weeks is needed in between each session to allow for maximum skin healing and ink fading. Our Astanza Trinity is specifically engineered to eliminate ink faster and deliver complete removal in as few treatments as possible.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Laser tattoo removal is widely regarded as the safest, most effective method for removing unwanted ink. Other methods like dermabrasion, salabrasion, excision, and acid injections involve painful treatment and almost always result in scarring. Our Trinity laser uses advanced technology to send pulses of light energy safely through the skin, targeting only ink trapped in the skin’s dermis while leaving the surrounding skin tissue unharmed. The most common side effects of laser tattoo removal are redness, itchiness, swelling, scabbing, and blistering. All of these side effects are temporary and heal over the weeks following a treatment. Patients are encouraged to follow proper aftercare instructions to promote faster healing and ensure beautiful results.
